PBIS / November - Integrity                 Integrity is a term used to describe a person's level of honesty, moral commitments, and willingness to do what's right.

What does Integrity look like?

Integrity means you associate with people who have strong morals.

PBiS-Viking Awards                  Students who are recognized being Responsible, Respectful, and Safe here at AMS are rewarded with Viking Awards. All PURPLE Viking Awards earned can be put into the green Viking Box in the office for future lunch time drawing, or used at the Student Store.


DC Dance               Friday, November 22nd there is a DC Fundraiser Dance from 7pm-9pm in the gym, cost is $5. The theme is Outer Space”. There will be concessions and a photo booth.

AMS & AHS Art Show      Do not miss the upcoming Art Exhibit this weekend. The Astoria High School and Astoria Middle School Art programs will be hosting "Artistry Abroad" from 5:30-7:30pm on Saturday, November 23rd. The show will be held in the old Lum's Showroom at 1625 Exchange St. (across from the skating rink!). The Art work will be a collaboration of drawings, paintings, pottery and more, all representing subjects and themes found from various cultures around the globe. There will be over 175 artists represented from our district! And there will be a special "light installation" that I am certain most kids (even us kids at heart!) will enjoy! We hope you can join us.

Library News         Do you like to read, and share stories with friends? Want to explore new books, have quiet reading time at the end of the day and (eventually) compete against other students for glory? Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) is meeting every Monday during 7th period, and open to students who are not in music or academic classes at that time.  Ms. Lawrence in the library has the details and the sign-up sheet.

OSEA Coat Drive   Please keep everyone warm this winter by donating new or clean gently used COATS-JACKETS-SWEATSHIRTS-SWEATERS-GLOVES-HATS-& MITTENS (All Sizes) to the Astoria Classified Employees Annual Coat Drive collection boxes at all Astoria Schools. Starts now through December 16th. Thank you so much for your generosity!

CMH Food Drive    Help local families in need by donating food to the food boxes located at AMS now through December 12th. Please DO NOT donate the following items: expired foods, open food packages, homemade goods, refrigerated or fresh items, candy, glass jars.

After School Cooking Class      Do you like to cook? Want to learn more about cooking? Join the cooking class sponsored by 4-H starting Jan. 16th afterschool from 2:15pm-4:45pm. Must register by Jan. 8th. Class fills up fast. Pick up a flyer in the office with all the information. Cost is Free!

Math Lab     Need some extra help with your math skills? We have Math Lab every Monday and Wednesday after school. It is in room 109 and gets over at 5pm.  Need a ride home make sure you have signed up for the After School Activity bus in the office?

Homework Club     Need extra help with homework or getting organized? Check out the Homework Club in room 103 every Tuesday after school till 5pm. All students are welcome to attend!  Need transportation home just make sure you have signed up for the After School Activity bus in the office?

Lost & Found         Students if you are missing any clothing items, lunch bags or miscellaneous items do not forget to check the lost and found cabinet next to the office or notify the office if you are missing anything.
